Welcome to Woodbury Troop 4
The Troop is located in the Hudson Valley region. We are a member of the Heritage District, within the Greater Hudson Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Chartering organization is the Woodbury Lions Club.
We have an average of 30-40 boy scouts a year with ages between 11 and 18 years. Our scouts are from Woodbury and Monroe, NY.
Troop 4 will offer a multitude of adventures for you to experience! The world will open to you in scouting!
We have meetings on Wednesday from 7pm till 8.30pm held at Smith Clove Elementary School or at the Gatehouse (224 Smith Clove Rd, Highland Mills) all year round.
We have an active outdoor program, with campouts, summer camp program, hikes, and multiple other outdoor activities scheduled each year. We participate in local parades and town events. Scouts do their part in caring for the community and the environment and participate in community service projects.
To earn the highest scout rank, the Eagle Scout Rank, scouts must earn merit badges. There are around 120 different areas of knowledge and skills. The merit badge program plays a major role in the scouting advancement program and participation can begin as soon as a scout registers with our troop. Each scout can explore topics from American Business to Woodworking as they have interest. A Scout must earn 14 badges for the rank of Eagle Scout plus a minimum of 7 electives badges. (at least a total of 21 merit badges)
Additionally, a committee of volunteer parent leaders meets monthly to plan and organize upcoming events. To the parents: Would you like to be involved in our Troop? We need you!! We have many positions open. We need your help to give our scouts the best experience in life. No experience is necessary, we will guide and help you all the way!
